CNN International is pleased to showcase the finalists of the competition.

From June to August 2009, CNN International invited viewers across Asia to showcase their creative talent by submitting photos or videos that best represent the region’s cultural diversity. The finalists were selected amongst a large number of entries, all of which captured contrasting expressions and cultural values that illustrate the unique facets of the Asia region. The competition winners and runners-up received prizes ranging from mobile phones to CNN premiums, and received an opportunity to see their work featured in CNN’s ‘Scene by Scene’ ad campaign.

As part of CNN's association with the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), CNN features the power and reach of the region’s cinema in four half-hour documentaries titled "Scene by Scene: Films of Asia-Pacific". Hosted by CNN’s Anna Coren, the four 30-min documentaries celebrate the cultural diversity and outstanding quality of the films being produced in the vast Asia-Pacific region. The programme hears from the directors, producers and stars about the challenges they face making films. 'Scene by Scene' airs every weekend in October on CNN International.
